One winner, one watch, one month.
Volume is the whole competition, and options and perps activity count the same. It compounds, too: every trader you refer credits 20% of their volume to your total, so the top of the board isn't reserved for whoever brings the biggest book. That credit is the biggest lever most traders have in this competition, and the full mechanics are further down: how much, how often, and when it lands.
Points run double all month
The watch goes to one trader. Points go to everyone who shows up.
A million points a week, every week of September, with 2x multipliers on the two things that build a market worth trading on: open interest and referrals. Open interest is a position you left on, risk carried against a live quote, overnight, through whatever the market did next. Referrals are the traders you brought with you. Both pay double for the entire month.
You don't have to pick between them. Every trade you put on chasing the watch earns points on the way, and the positions you hold and the people you bring in earn double.
Referrals credit straight into your volume
20% of every referred trader's volume lands in your total on the leaderboard: the same number the watch is scored on, not a separate pool or a bonus tier.
That changes who can win it. A trader doing enormous size can take the top spot on their own book, and so can a moderate trader with ten active referrals behind them. Ten of them doing $100k each is $200k credited to your total before you place a trade of your own.
If you came in through someone's referral link, none of this costs you anything. Your volume counts in full toward your own position on the board, and the 20% your referrer earns is credited on top rather than carved out of your total. It's a leaderboard credit and nothing more, so it doesn't change the volume Rocket records for either of you. Referral volume credits post daily at 14:00 UTC, so your position moves once a day rather than tick by tick.
Referrals carry the 2x points multiplier too, so everyone you bring in is working on both counts.
Options are the reason for all of it
The competition is the wrapper. Options going live on beta is the thing.
We've written before about why we built Rocket around price rather than speed: block-based micro-auctions clear orders together at a single price, so being first stops mattering and market makers compete on the quote instead of on the connection. Options are where that design earns its keep. A perp asks one question: which way? Options ask three: which way, how fast, and how hard it moves. Every one of those answers gets priced. When pricing is the whole game, how a venue forms its price stops being an implementation detail.
If you want the longer version of why on-chain options have been hard to build and what we think it takes to get them right, we wrote that up too. If options are new to you, start here instead.
The rules
- Dates
- September 1 to September 30, 2026, measured in UTC.
- Prize
- One Rolex, to the single top trader on the board.
- Metric
- Highest total trading volume across perps and options on Rocket beta. Options are the launch, but perps count the same. Active traders aren't locked out.
- Referral credit
- 20% of each referred trader's volume is added to your total. Credits post daily at 14:00 UTC.
- Points
- 1,000,000 points per week, every week of the month, with 2x multipliers on open interest and on referrals.
- Where
- Rocket beta: beta.rocketfi.io/trade
- Fair play
- Entries are reviewed. Wash trading, self-referral, and coordinated volume between related accounts are disqualified.
- Who can enter
- Anyone 18 or over who can access Rocket beta. Beta isn't available to US persons, so the competition is closed to them too, along with anyone in a jurisdiction where we don't operate or local law restricts it. Rocket's team and contractors are out.
- When the board closes
- 23:59 UTC on September 30. We review the top of the board over the seven days that follow and announce the winner by October 7.
- Ties
- If two traders finish on the same volume, the watch goes to whoever got there first.
- Claiming it
- We reach the winner through the wallet address they competed under via wallet session on the Rocket UI. To claim the prize, the winner must, within fourteen (14) days of first contact, respond to Rocket and complete a nominal verification transaction confirming control of that wallet. The prize is a 2026 Rolex Explorer 40.
The full terms are here.
How to enter
- Open Rocket beta and connect your wallet. Trading inside the window enters you automatically. There's no separate sign-up.
- Grab your referral link from the referrals page and share it before the month gets going. Early referrals credit volume for longer.
- Trade options, perps, or both. Every dollar of volume counts the same toward the watch.
- Leave positions on where your read supports it. Open interest is where the 2x points sit.
- Watch the leaderboard.
Options have been live on testnet since July. Beta is where they meet real stakes: thirty days, double points on open interest and referrals, and one watch on the line.
